Permeon™ is a natural desert varnish developed by Arizona State University. With a high concentration of iron and manganese, Permeon™ is absorbed into rock surfaces and reacts with the rock to accelerate the natural oxidation process and restore natural rock colors in a short time. Applications of Permeon™ on rock scars caused by construction disturbance have the immediate effect of restoring the rock tones that were previously present on the rock face as a result of hundreds or thousands of years of weathering.
Permeon™ has been successfully used to visually restore disturbed rock surfaces across the Western United States, and has the ability to restore any shade of brown or black to a rock surface. Permeon™ also works to oxidize and color concrete structures of any kind.
